Guadalupe Marquez-Velarde earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from Texas A&M University and is now an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Utah State University. Her research interests are population health, intersectionality, and broader issues of racial inequality, and her expertise includes Immigrant, Latinx, and LGBTQ+ health, as well as demography. Christopher Rider earned his Ph.D. from the University of California-Berkeley, and is now the Thomas C. Kinnear Professor and Associate Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. His research examines the reciprocal relationship between entrepreneurship and societal inequality, and he also studies racial disparity in various empirical contexts, with a focus on sports settings.
